“I really get to know my patients and try to learn about their families so they feel more at ease working with me.”

-Kayla Wolff, OTR

Kayla Wolff, Occupational Therapist, was raised right here in the town of Portage. A previous choice to volunteer locally in the Divine Savior Healthcare rehab department was all it took for Kayla to make occupational therapy her calling.

Choosing the University of Wisconsin- La Crosse, Kayla first acquired her Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Continuing on, she earned her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy and was granted a Leadership Award for the Occupational Therapy Program. In the last year Kayla received a certification in stroke rehab.

“Divine Savior Healthcare offers personalized and client centered care,” Kayla says.

Her choice to become an occupational therapist has left Kayla with a rewarding career. “I get to help others heal and also help them learn about their own bodies,” she says.

If Kayla didn’t find her love for the medical field she would be a teacher. Although she is not a teacher; she is teaching her patients to live healthy everyday.

The friendly people that she gets to encounter are not just inside the doors of Divine Savior Healthcare, Kayla encounters this regularly while out in the community.  “The thing I enjoy the most about the area is the friendly people everywhere,” Kayla shares.

When she is not working, Kayla enjoys volleyball, hiking, quality time with friends and family, and guitar. She is sharing her joy for volleyball with the freshman Volleyball team at Portage High school as their Coach.

Kayla's advice is to, “Treat every day like a gift because you never know when it will be your last."
