"Earning a patient's trust and being given the opportunity to positively impact his or her life is truly an honor."

— Dr. Eric R. Anderson Dr.

Eric Anderson's diverse range of experience in the field of medicine provides him with a unique perspective when providing care to his surgical patients and their families.

Beginning his career as a registered nurse and then working as a nurse practitioner, Dr. Anderson has developed an understanding of how to care for his patients holistically while tending to their immediate surgical needs. Dr. Anderson obtained his medical degree from Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine and attended surgical residency at Marshfield Clinic.

During residency he was the lead author in five publications, presented at national and local meetings and was chosen as chief resident.

Through the course of his training, Dr. Anderson developed a particular interest in minimally invasive surgery and cancer care, including hernia repair, treatment for gastroesophogeal reflux disease (GERD), and certain treatments for breast and colon cancer. By performing these procedures and others, he has found it extremely rewarding to see how his patients' quality of life can be so dramatically affected.

"Every interaction with a patient and their family is an opportunity to positively impact their health and life. I am sure to make the most of the opportunity," states Dr. Anderson.

Dr. Anderson grew up in Wisconsin and he and his wife chose our community in which to raise their four sons. "Portage and the surrounding area offers a beautiful backdrop for outdoor activities, a deep and rich history and a real sense of community," adds Dr. Anderson. "I believe the community is very fortunate to have a healthcare organization with physicians and staff committed to continually providing the best care possible. I am very happy to be a part of the team at Divine Savior Healthcare."

Dr. Anderson has always set his goals high and believes that anything is possible with hard work and dedication. He is a member of our talented general surgery team at Divine Savior Healthcare and looks forward to providing his patients in our community with the best in patient care.

"Having the knowledge and training to save or improve a life makes what I do so rewarding. If you have surgical needs, I would be honored to provide your care," states Dr. Anderson.
