“Like a lot of healthcare professionals, I thrive on helping others reach their potential when it seems out of reach. I work hard to help my clients see beyond current obstacles and to set and achieve goals that will make their lives exceptional.”
-David Vorpahl, OTR

David Vorpahl, Occupation Therapist, grew up watching his mother make an imprint on others. As a nurse, she was able to show David firsthand the way that individuals can make a difference on other’s lives.

“She loved her career,” David tells us. “I think her healing attitude always influenced my approach to life.”

David earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy at the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee. He is pleased that he made that choice for his career.

“I get to help people every day,” he shares.

Following the advice his dad passed down to him, David believes “whatever you choose to be, be a good one.” Being a part of a good team is one reason why David is happy to be a member of Divine Savior Healthcare’s talented rehab department. Getting to work alongside his wife is another bonus.

“I am very proud of our rehabilitation department. I work with a great group of professionals,” he says. “Divine Savior Healthcare offers excellent personal, comprehensive healthcare to the Portage community and many surrounding communities. Divine Savior is also the happy home to nearly 800 employees, many of whom live in the area.”

When he is not present at Divine Savior Healthcare as one of those employees, David likes to take advantage of the opportunities in the area with his wife and school-aged children.

“The opportunities for involvement are almost endless,” he points out. “Whether your interests are in the visual or performing arts, sports, outdoor activities, nature, government, etc., you can be a part of it here. I love to curl, ski, coach soccer, work around the house, and I attend a lot of high school and grade school sporting, music and theatre events. Professionally, I have an interest in hand and upper extremity rehab.”
