"I take the time to listen and spend time with my patients and their families and really get to know them."

— Christi Barden, APNP

Christi has had a lifelong enjoyment of learning and a commitment to those who live and work in this area. A Wisconsin-native, her small town upbringing and her background in rural medicine have helped her understand the challenges her patients face.

"I practice patient-centered care. My patients are the reason I am here, and I want to work with them to find out how I can improve their quality of life," states Christi. "Healthcare can be confusing and I spend the time needed to make sure my patients are informed."

When treating her patients, Christi draws from evidence based guidelines, but is happy to incorporate homeopathic or naturalistic suggestions if patients desire. "I enjoy treating patients of all ages and have a special interest in well care, chronic care, pediatrics, women's health, homeopathic medicine, nutrition and exercise education," adds Christi.

Christi was with Divine Savior Healthcare for over ten years before her taking on her role as nurse practitioner at Crossroads Clinic. "All the role models I was able to work so closely with at Divine Savior are still employees here and I think this shows that the organization has a vested interest in recruiting and retaining excellent staff members to serve patients," states Christi.

In her free time Christi enjoys spending time with her family. Traveling, cheering on the Badgers and Brewers, running, boating, baking, crocheting and local gourmet dining top her list of favorite activities.

Christi is currently accepting new primary care patients of all ages by appointment at her Oxford Crossroads Clinic location.
