"What makes me happy is helping others.”

Caitlin Ward believes in the maxim “Do what makes you happy.” And what makes her happy is helping others.

As a speech language pathologist at Divine Savior, Ward helps others with communication, swallowing, cognitive and voice issues every day.

“The most rewarding part of my career is when my patients make progress toward their goals,” she said.

Ward tries to share information and resources with her patients and likes to be part of organizations that can benefit the community. She is certified in LSVT LOUD which is a special voice program for people with Parkinson’s disease or other neurological diseases.

Having grown up in nearby Pardeeville, Ward appreciates small towns, and understands how important it is that health care services are offered locally.

“DSH offers a variety of services to a rural area so that people don’t have to travel so far,” she said. “We offer friendly, skilled services that are sometimes thought of only in ‘big’ hospitals.”

In her free time, Ward enjoys being with her 3-year-old son. They can often be found playing outside, building, cooking, swimming, or singing and dancing together.
