"The most rewarding part of my career is that moment when a patient, who thought they wouldn’t be able to return to doing what they love to do, has a victory and gives them the hope that they might be able to do it again one day."

-Alison Tobison, OTR

Alison Tobison grew up in Columbus, WI, a smaller town than Portage, but similar in community. She earned her Masters in Occupational Therapy from the University of Wisconsin - Madison and was deeply influenced to go into the medical field during her time at school.

"I enjoyed biology and anatomy in college and became interested in the medical field but I wasn’t sure what area. I was working as a CNA at a short-term inpatient rehab and worked closely with the therapists there. The occupational therapist’s I worked with were a huge inspiration,” Alison shares.

Alison makes it a goal to go above and beyond for her patients and co-workers by staying very detail oriented and doing her best to not leave tasks undone. She says, "Everything in life is a journey, not a destination. Work on it every day even if it’s something small; don’t ever quit on yourself."If she was not a occupational therapist she would most likely have been a teacher. When not at work, she loves to water ski, do paper crafts, dance, sew, and read.
