Labor and delivery bring out many emotions for expecting families, some of which include excited anticipation, and, for some, even anxiety. Rest assured that you will receive one-on-one care from our team of compassionate, skilled nurses who will be in constant contact with your physician throughout labor. We will be with you every step of the way, and will guide you through your labor so you feel well informed and in control.

We offer a variety of pain management options to choose from throughout labor progression. There are many effective measures our skilled nurses will use to aid you through your delivery. This can be customized to fit your needs and requests.

We practice the most current recommendations to keep baby skin-to-skin with their mother for at least the first hour of life. Likely during this first hour our nursing staff will assist you in trying to nurse your baby for the first time, if that is your preferred feeding choice. All required procedures for your baby will be done while he or she remains content on your chest rather than at a warmer. After at least the first hour has passed, we will offer to weigh and measure your newborn while you remain nearby.

In the event that your physician decides a cesarean delivery (c-section) is required, you will be taken to our operating room, usually with one support person of your choice. Our nursing staff will talk you through this process if cesarean section becomes necessary. We do our best to keep you and baby together in recovery, and to promote skin-to-skin.
