According to Dr. Meredith Brawley, true reward in her profession comes from taking care of women in all stages of their lives. As a recent addition to the Divine Savior Healthcare team, Dr. Brawley brings a passionate commitment to providing comprehensive OB/GYN care to women of the Portage area and surrounding communities.
Having grown up in Wisconsin, she feels a special connection to this community because of the remarkable similarities between Portage and her hometown of Burlington. This sentiment is reflective in her attitude towards providing big city medicine with a small town touch.
Dr. Brawley says, "I believe in doing the right thing the correct way. I also really enjoy taking care of people and try to treat them as though they were family."
Dr. Brawley pursued her education obtaining a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences and later completing her training at Providence Hospital and Medical Center in Michigan where she served as Scheduling Chief Resident and gained experience working with high-risk obstetric populations.
Though born and raised in a different area of the state, Dr. Brawley is excited about exploring the area she now calls home. Like Burlington, Portage and Divine Savior Healthcare have both provided great examples of what it means to be a part of a close-knit community.
Dr. Brawley said of her new employer, "Its employees are like family and I get the sense that everyone really likes being there."
Once settled into her new community and work schedule, Dr. Brawley hopes to once again become active in running, a hobby that got set aside while she was completing her residency.
